ELECTRONICS
Information and communication makes using a boat of any type safer and more enjoyable. Sonar, Plotters, Radar, and other instruments have been available for a long time, but things have advanced to a level that it requires technical expertise to integrate everything together, add to the system, and troubleshoot issues.
NMEA networking has enabled different brands and systems to communicate with each other. this cross integration negates the necessity to stay with one brand and provides a limitless list of vessel data as well as entertainment and communications that can be merged into a robust centralized display and control center.
At 12v Marine, although experienced with most major brands of marine electronics, we feel it best to not limit what we offer to our customers. Rather than being obligated to a specific brand, we prefer to create a system combining the best available equipment, brands, and technologies to achieve the customers specifications which also enables future additions.
OFFSHORE
live wells, under water lighting, amplified audio systems, radar, electric reels, large MFD's, and video screens require more power than most outboard motors and smaller inboard engines alternators can consistently provide, especially at slower trolling speeds. To supplement this demand, isolated lithium batteries and solar systems can be integrated to eliminate the concern of overloading your alternators, or draining and damaging your batteries. Measuring your vessels actual typical electrical output, daily demand per trip, and needed recovery time, we at 12v Marine can design and install a complete system to make your fishing trips worry free.
OFF GRID - ON THE HOOK
when not pugged in at the dock, we no longer need to run our generator day and night, or be constantly checking the draw on our house batteries being careful to let them get below 12.1v. With solar, new battery chemistries, and efficient power management systems we can expand the electrical conveniences available for use. There are complexities in the system design, power distribution, and isolating the different battery chemistries to meet their unique requirements. At 12v Marine we are very experienced and will design a system to meet your needs and ensure your system is efficient and safe.
NETWORK
WIFI, NMEA, Ethernet, Bluetooth.....
Most marine electronic brands use NMEA or are compatible but many need special interfaces to talk to each other. WIFI for onboard device communication is also used as well as Bluetooth. one of the bigest advancement in recent years is Starlink which will connect to the internet in the middle of the ocean even when the vessel is in rough water. You can stream a movie, work remote, and even video zoom with family.
ELECTRICAL
After Fuel fires, the electrical system is the most dangerous part of your boat.
Worn out breakers, loose or corroded wires, overloaded circuits, poorly crimped connections, incorrect wire size can all lead to an electrical failure. electrical issues can also cause galvanic corrosion destroying propellers, shafts, and even through hulls sinking your boat.
